Anika Rose is an American actor and singer. Her most well-known role is voicing Tiana the first Disney African-American princess as Tiana Disney's first African-American princess in The Princess and the Frog. The film was awarded her the title of an official Disney Legend in 2011. Rose was an Oscar-winning actor who was Lorrell on the screen in Dreamgirls. Anika noni Rose is an American singer-songwriter and actress. The most famous of her roles was her character Tiana the Princess from Disney who is her first African American Princess to appear in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legends featured her as the 2011's most popular character. Her most well-known role is the character of Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls (2006) and the character she played as LaVerne the Jukebox Ganner in the Starz television show Power. Her performance in the theater are also well-known, particularly her performances in the role of Emmie Thbodeaux and as the character in The Broadway musical Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actress in a Musical. Her nomination was for an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actor in the play Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun.
