Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1996 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. The artist has already recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by Oasis. Oasis for a Christmas advertisement by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. The singer gained further attention from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' first musical memories involve finding a tiny piano hidden in the basement and bewildered by the sound it created. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music not to get a job or a hobby and as a way to grow. This led to her started writing her own music. She credits Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, along with Bjork as being her influences. When her mother told her that her songs can not only aid in her efforts to achieve fame but also make others see their value within the global community and see how they can benefit from the songs, she decided to begin singing in public. She began playing the piano when she was six years old and started writing music at age nine. They didn't even know until the age of 14. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. She says she just likes to compose songs. According to her, the music she composes is how she feels about anything.
